Tysie McDowell-Ray

Principal Consultant

Principal Consultant, Tysie McDowell-Ray has been working in the field of education for over ten years. Mrs. McDowell-Ray has consulted for numerous teachers and administrators in private, public, and charter schools. She has helped schools align curriculum to state standards, developed teacher-parent positive communication programs, conducted parenting classes, created reader's and writer's workshop curriculum calendars, developed student assessments for various units of study and conducted classroom observations and demonstrations. In addition to consulting, she teaches Language Arts and Urban Education courses at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Mrs. McDowell-Ray earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Iowa. She received her Master’s Degree in School Administration from Baker University.   Additionally, she has received training from Columbia University Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project.

 

 

Susan Bizorik

Math Consultant

Math Consultant, Susan Bizorik has been working in the field of education for over twenty-five years. She has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Missouri Kansas City, Avila College, Donnelly, and St. Mary College. Mrs. Bizorik has held various teaching positions including Math Resource Teacher, Title I Mathematics Facilitator, and Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator for the Kansas City, Missouri School District. She has presented at numerous conferences including National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Meetings, Missouri Council of Teacher of Mathematics Annual Fall Conferences, Kansas City Area Teacher of Mathematics Annual Winter Conferences, Basic School’s Annual Conferences, and the Expanding Horizons in Science and Mathematics Conference for Women and Minorities, sponsored by UMKC. In addition to consulting, Mrs. Bizorik is the Elementary Mathematics Instructional Coach for the Hickman Mills School District. Mrs. Bizork earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education, and her Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

 

 

Bonnie Stalder

Math Consultant

Math Consultant, Bonnie Stalder has been working in the field of education for 14 years. She has aligned math curriculum to the state standards, created curriculum and calendar pacing guides. She has assisted teachers and administrators in analyzing data, setting goals for math improvement and in collaborative planning. She also has a great deal of experience observing teachers and providing demonstration lessons in individual classrooms. Mrs. Stalder has been a frequent presenter for the KACTM Winter Conference in Kansas City, for the Basic School Summer Institutes, and the Investigations Users Conferences. She served as the Elementary Mathematics Instructional Coach for the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Central Missouri State University and her Elementary certification through Ottawa University. Mrs. Stalder also has a Master's Of Education from Springfield College, Springfield, MA.

 

 

Monica Nance

Literacy Consultant

Literacy Consultant, Monica Nance has been working in the field of education for over twenty-five years. She has taught in various urban and E.S.L. classrooms and has held multiple positions such as Content Curriculum Criter and Literacy Coach. Ms. Nance has lead many workshops on various topics such as: Read-Alouds and Their Impact on Student Learning, the Architecture of Conferring, and Understanding Reader’s Workshop in the Middle School. She has been a presenter at the National School Association’s Middle Level Essentials Conference, an adjunct professor at Northwest Missouri State University, and has received training from the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Institute at Columbia University. Currently, Ms. Nance is the Curriculum Coordinator for Communication Arts for the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Ms. Nance earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Drake University and her Master’s Degree in Education from Webster University.


 

 

Lori Hall

 Educational Consultant 

Educational Consultant, Lori Hall has been working in the field of education for over 30 years.  She has taught students at all levels, K-adult and in various settings of whole group, small group and individualized instruction. She has worked as the district coordinator for Platte County R-3 Schools, administering programs for at-risk learners and leading community support groups. Also at the local district level, Mrs. Hall implemented a volunteer mentoring program entitled YouthFriends, where caring adults are matched with students. She has lead professional development workshops at the local, state and national level and aligned Communication Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science curriculum to state standards. Mrs. Hall received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Music from the University of North Dakota. She also received Adult Basic Education certification from the state of Missouri to work in GED Learning Centers.  Mrs. Hall holds a Master’s degree in Teaching with an emphasis in Communication Arts from Webster University.  Most recently, Mrs. Hall served as a Reading Specialist, receiving her certification from UMKC and continues to mentor students on a voluntary basis through the YouthFriends program.
